Price overview for Blood tests

At Fitzrovia Medical Clinic, our GP (General Practitioner) can indeed order and oversee blood tests as part of patient care. These tests are a common diagnostic tool used to assess general health, check for infections, evaluate organ function, and screen for various conditions. During your consultation, our doctors will guide you through the selection of the most suitable tests for your health profile. Your doctor will collect all necessary blood samples during your visit and deliver most results within a 72-hour window. All your results are shared with you as soon as they become available. Each set of results is reviewed by a doctor who will then devise a personalised plan for you. We’ve listed some of our commonly requested tests along with their prices below. We offer a wider range of tests, the details and costs of which can be discussed during your consultation.

General Fasting Blood test (AD1)

£89

A blood test is often done to check your health, or to find out why you're having certain symptoms. It involves having a small amount of your blood taken for testing. A routine fasting blood test requires you to abstain from food and drinks (except water) for a specific period before the test, typically 8-12 hours, to ensure accurate results.

Blood test with PSA - Men
(AD2)

£94

A PSA blood test is a common way to screen for prostate cancer and other prostate issues in men. It measures the level of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in the blood, a protein produced by the prostate gland. While elevated PSA levels can indicate prostate cancer, they can also be caused by other conditions like an enlarged prostate or infection.

Blood test with CA125 - Women (AD3)

£108

A CA125 blood test measures the level of CA125, a protein in the blood, and is primarily used to help diagnose or monitor ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer. It can also be elevated in other cancers and non-cancerous conditions.

Blood Test - FK506

£279.5

A tacrolimus (FK506) blood test measures the level of tacrolimus in the blood. Tacrolimus is an immunosuppressant drug used to prevent organ rejection after transplant and in some autoimmune diseases. The test helps doctors determine the correct dosage of tacrolimus to maintain therapeutic levels and avoid toxicity.

Lithium Level - blood test

£102.4

This test measures the amount of lithium in the blood. Lithium is a drug that is used to treat mood disorders such as bipolar disorder. Knowing how much is in the blood is important for diagnosing lithium poisoning.

Blood Test Sexual Health

£257.4

Blood tests are a key part of sexual health testing, particularly for detecting certain sexually transmitted infections (STIs) like HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B and C. While some STIs are diagnosed through urine samples or swabs, blood tests are crucial for identifying these specific infections.

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)  Test

From
£100

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a common type of bacteria that infects the lining of the stomach and the first part of the small intestine. Most people with H. pylori never have symptoms. But in some people, the bacteria can cause problems with digestion. The most common tests use samples of your breath or stool. In certain cases, tests are done on a sample of tissue that's removed from inside your stomach.

BRCA 1&2 Test

£890

A BRCA blood test is a genetic test that looks for mutations in the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes, which are associated with an increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer. It involves a standard blood draw and can help individuals understand their cancer risk and make informed decisions about preventative measures.
